- AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE SOCIETY
- To preserve and promote the total well being of the citizens
of our country through personal and professional development
of those engaged in counselling.
- To establish qualitative standards of Counselling service,
training and research.
- To take steps to gain professional acceptance and recognition
for Counsellors and Institutions.
- To provide a forum in which Counsellors and those who are
involved in helping and healing professions can exchange ideas,
information, techniques and methodologies.
- To promote training in ethics and laws relating to helping
profession.
- To provide mentoring and advice for young aspiring professionals
in the area of counselling.
- To provide opportunities for peer networking and peer consultation.
- To undertake scientific publications like journals and books
for promoting research and up-to-date information in the field
of psychological counselling and to provide other resources
for excellence in the profession.
- To promote advocacy for furthering the interest of the profession.
- To provide opportunities for continuing education.
- To develop standards for accreditation of Institutions which
offer Counselling.
- To undertake Liaison activities between those who are engaged
in Counselling and the Government or other bodies for better
understanding and relationship.
- To take such other steps that may be found advisable to further
the interest of those in helping profession.
