The Association for Psychological Counselling (APC)
is a society dedicated to preserve and promote the total well
being of the citizens of India, and to establish and define standards
and guidelines for counselling services. It also aims at providing
counselling services, training, research and interaction between
various counsellors.
The APC is a close associate of the Christian Counselling
Centre (CCC), Vellore. The main office of the APC is located on
the CCC campus. More information on the CCC is given below.

THE CCC:
The Christian Counselling Centre, Vellore is a pioneering
institute in the field of human relations, psychological counselling
and psychotherapy. A non-profit ecumenical educational institution,
the CCC's mission is the development of human resource through
training, counselling services and research. Started in 1970 at
the initiative of Church of South India, under the leadership
of Bishop Lesslie Newbigin, CCC envisaged counselling as a tool
with great potential for social change keeping in mind the individual's
wholistic growth and healing. During its three decades of service
to the society, CCC can proudly claim to have reached out to millions
of fractured personalities around the world through its alumni
beloning to different religious, educational and cultural background
who are successfully utilising their people skills while rendering
their service. Participants from 25 Nations and 25 Indian States
have developed their professional skills and attained personal
growth through our various courses. CCC is a unique and premier
institute of its kind in India where development of professional
skills in counselling is emphasised in all its courses through
practice and feedback.

HISTORICAL NOTE
Inspirted by the work of psychiatrist Late frank lake
of England. the christian coyselling center was found in 1970 at intiative
of south india under the leadership of Bishpo Lesslie Newbigin as an
essential non-profit All India Eduction & service institute. The
center has been developing under the leadership of Dr.B.J.Prashantham
who is the Directive of the center. C.C.C. is a unique pioneering &
premier institute of its kinds in the country.
VELLORE
Vellore is a town with a population of 200 thousand, &
is situated 150km. west of chennel, south india.It has a glorious history
with successive Hindu, Muslim & British rules before the independence
of India . It is known all over the world for its famous Christian Medical
college & hospital founded by DR.Ida S.Scudder in 1900 A.D in a
building located in what is popularly called the "Mission compound".It
is in this sacred place that yet another pioneering institute the Christian
Counselling Center(CCC) was born in 1970.
